meh, just gotta edit the inf file to add the card to it, nothing i havent done b4 with nvidia cards or ati cards or s3 cards for that matter.

No, it's a matter of the drivers not working well with them. ATI actually had to released a dedicated set for them.

Bingo. Even the new 9.1 aren't playing nice from what I hear, and Sapphire had to modify them because the normal ATi drivers have no support for the 4850X2 at all.

The TASK itself doesn't seem to "lend itself" to doing multiple threads, ALBEIT, in a "fine-grained" multithreaded design is all!

I've noted that from the CPU charts over @ Tom's Hardware, that the INTEL I7 Core 920 CPU I have generally outperforms even YOURS by roughly an avg. of 16-35% on MOST tests he has there (give or take a few %-age points, on some tests etc. et al)

After all - I am mostly looking for what INTEL claims the I7 Core CPU family yields, mostly - increases in REAL WORLD WORK TASKS SCENARIOS (more than just gaming)...

The program uses multiple threads, already... albeit, not in what is called "fine grained multithreaded design" but, instead, "coarse multithreading"... &, there is a difference. The 1st kind IS tougher, & NOT every task lends itself to that either.
